What is Mental Health First Aid?

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a nationally recognized, one-day training course from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. This course equips participants with the skills to identify, understand, and respond to mental health challenges, illnesses, and substance use disorders. MHFA provides the knowledge and confidence needed to reach out and offer initial help to someone experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis.

Why Take MHFA?

Studies show that individuals trained in MHFA have increased mental health literacy and are more confident in assisting someone in distress. This training is a powerful tool in breaking the stigma around mental health and fostering supportive communities.
